We had very good food and service. Familiar things for us to choose and some things we hadn't seen before. Really enjoyed some house made tofu that came with some of our meals, which we wouldn't have otherwise ordered. Large menu but didn't include some of the things we are used to so check the menu if you like to stick to your standard go to items.

Such a great restaurant that serves real japanese food at affordable price. I couldn't find the parking lot so I parked in the zoo parking which was $1/hour.

This is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in America and what an amazing place for the price you pay. You will get incredibly rich and unique flavors, loads of sides dishes and authentic Japanese drinks for about $35 per person (full meal with many side dishes at around 25-30 and large beer at around $10). Our family of four ordered a lot and every items was delicious. This is literally a hole in the wall restaurant but one you should not miss. I’ve traveled quite a bit around the world and I will not forget the meal I had here. I shall return!

We had the combination combo and it's AMAZINGVery large serving size, with lots of different dishes!Service is excellent!Food is superb with fresh ingredients and excellent cooking! If you are not a big eater, recommend to only order one combo and plus a few side dishes. We can barely finish all our meals and so full by the end.

$200 for party of 4 - wonderful fresh fish. Service is friendly and patiently explains the menu which has mostly Japanese terms. Price is on the expensive side for portion size. Service is slow.

Food was pretty good and very authentic. The service was very poor though. I told them no shellfish but they kept bringing me some. We also never had our dishes cleared nor our water refilled while eating.

This place looks like nothing fancy outside and it’s the hidden pearl and highlight of our trip! Authentic traditional Japanese cuisine that it’s hard to find! Famous fine cut cold tofu with fresh sashimi and probably homemade green tea ice cream! You only find Japanese people eating here! Thank you for such beautiful dinner’!

This place is gold. Hidden in a hotel and service can be slow but the food is worth the wait. You need to try their butterfish. So fresh so tasty. Out of the world.

Felt like a traditional sushi spot with the classic artfulness and freshness of the seafood. A lovely surprise was actually the housemade tofu that was amazingly sliced like noodles. Two-tiered chirashi was delicious and had a beautiful variety including some treasures like abalone and the uni (which I felt was worth the add-on price). Service however was a bit slow since the servers were occupied with a number of big parties, including private rooms. This wasn’t surprising, if not for the sushi chefs swiftly preparing food that waited on the servers for what seemed to be too long. Good value and quality overall.

Went to a private luncheon at this restaurant. I had the salmon teishoku which included tempura, nishime (vegetables cooked in a broth), sashimi (raw fish) and konbu tsukemono (seaweed flavored with shoyu & sugar). Everything was delicious! We also had a very delicious tofu (house made) that was like noodles. Yum! Dessert was azuki ice cream which was very creamy. Parking is only valet; restaurant validates for 2 hours.

This place has the feel of a hole in the wall neighborhood go to restaurant in japan. Friendly staff patiently answers questions, provides translations and makes recommendations. The food is great - fresh ingredients and tasty flavors. House made tofu is 👌 Somewhat hidden entrance inside a hotel. They have a wall of sake bottles that customers have bought but can't finish in one sitting, so they store it there for next time.

Truly authentic Japenese! Everything we ordered was delicious. Chirashi dinner was double tiered and exceeded our expections, fish was very fresh. Udon noodles and steamed egg was also very tasty. Would highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine.

This is not typical westernized sushi places where you get a variety of rolls and sushi. This is very authentic Japanese course meal I only get to experience in Japan. I’m very surprised to find this good quality Japanese restaurant right around corner of Waikiki beach. Try dinner course either A or B and you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing food. The fish (butter fish and mackerel) we're perfectly broiled: moist and flakey inside, crisp and flavorful on the outside. The cold tofu noodles were really unique and delicious too. Cozy atmosphere and warm service. Our server was very proactive in helping (getting more tea, seaweed, new bowls, new mugs even).

Cozy place with significant lack of staff and unmatched price labels. They do serve USDA Prime degree steaks but they ruined it by serving the egg too late.

Amazing sushi in Waikiki! Take your time piecing the menu together to help it make sense or just ask. If you’re here for sushi (I’m not talking about California rolls and deep fried rolls) I suggest ordering the Mastu option to split between two people and go from there.

Feels very authentic. If you want Japanese food, better to come here than a fusion place with a North American spin, which never ends up tasting as good.

Yoshitsune has a phenomenal menu, served with great attention to detail. The chef takes great care in crafting the omakase, and it was difficult to choose between the several different tasting menus offered. That said, in September they offer a beautiful matsutake soup. Clear broth, matsutake mushrooms, yuzu zest, and scallions combined to create an amazing penultimate course to an already amazing meal. Yoshitsune is quieter than it's neighbors, largely due to the fact that it doesn't have a beach view. But if you want amazing food and a thoughtful staff, head to Yoshitsune.

Very traditional restaurant tucked inside the Parkshore hotel. I loved this place so much that I came here twice for lunch. The first lunch I ordered the chicken cutlet. I underestimated how much food I would be getting (not complaining), but I felt like it was almost an endless buffet. I came at an off time so I felt that I was the only one in the restaurant, which I think I was

One of the best restaurant experiences of my life. Period.I am from Italy and I would say that I traveled quite a bit around Europe, US and Asia. I can definitely tell that the PEOPLE that run this restaurant will make you feel home.In a nutshell:- Amazing food.- Super authentic cuisine (owners and staff, as well as clients, were all Japanese).- Super-duper kind people. The lady who served us did everything to accommodate us and our baby, at the end she even offered an ice cream to our little one. You must stop here if visiting Waikiki.

It could have been a 3 or 4 star because food was not too bad, but they charged my tips automatically which was very inappropriate to me. The homemade tofu is very disappointing to me. I came here for that..

The best sushi we could find in Honolulu, and in general the food is outstanding compare to other places. But be prepared to be very patient, the service is slow to say the least. Just accept that you will need 2 hours for a meal and you’ll really enjoy it. If you have time limits, then go elsewhere. Came here 2 days in a row, and it was the same both times. The food quality and taste was worth it for us, but wouldn’t ever wait this long back home for ANY food

Probably one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants I have been to outside of Japan. The food and service are both on-point. The quality of the ingredients to the dish presentation, you can tell they put their hearts into it. I am glad we found this hidden gem!

Well started out wellWaiter disappeared. We wait ed 20 minutes for dessert that didn't come. Check never came. Had to go to checkout to pay. Lady gave small scoop of ice cream we didn't even want any longer. Didn't get a box for leftovers. Service not very good.Food pretty good.

It was like walking into a tiny izakaya shop in Hakone, minus the onsen. The bento boxes were neat, delicious, and filling. The miso butterfish was so soft it cut like butter. The soba noodles rivaled those I have had in Shibuya. I reminisced about getting lost in the back alleys of Shinjuku. Highly recommend. Five stars.
